Perpetrators are increasingly using messenger services such as WhatsApp, Telegram and co because \u2013 unlike conventional telephony \u2013 the state is not allowed to monitor them. It is clear that this raises a number of problems, especially with regard to criminal prosecution. The question of whether and to what extent the state’s surveillance rights should now be extended to include messenger services is therefore more relevant than ever. During the two-hour discussion, this was confirmed once again \u2013 the topic will continue to occupy us in the future, as the questions can never be answered with a simple yes or no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
