She gave us fascinating and highly practical insights into the role of the European Court of Auditors as the EU\u2019s independent audit body, into its audit procedures and reporting, and into the growing challenges posed by complex EU programmes and funding structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One thing became clear: effective oversight is not an expression of mistrust, but an indispensable part of a functioning democracy, good governance and sustainable public financial management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A heartfelt thank you to Ms Berger for her valuable insights and to all our guests for the lively discussion!
