Karin Maier (Deloitte Austria) and moderated by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Eva Eberhartinger, LLM (Institute for Auditing, Trust Services, and Accounting), key topics were explored regarding <strong class=\"\">career paths in auditing<\/strong> (forensics, financial statement audits, expert witness services), <strong class=\"\">causes<\/strong>, and the <strong class=\"\">detection of corruption and fraud<\/strong>\u2014ranging from systemic weaknesses and economic factors to the role of digitalization and the auditor\u2014were examined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to technical insights, the discussion also focused on practical aspects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What does forensic work actually entail in day-to-day practice?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What skills are particularly in demand in this field?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How can graduates build their professional expertise while keeping pace with the latest technological developments?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exchange with students at WU Vienna was both inspiring and enriching for us.
